We are excited to announce the launch of My e-Residency, a brand-new portal designed to help e-residents start, run, and grow their Estonian companies while fostering a deeper connection to the e-Residency community. In this initial phase, the portal focuses on supporting new e-residents during their onboarding journey.

If you’ve recently been approved for e-Residency, make sure to look out for an email directing you to the portal. There, you will be guided through the process of setting up your digital ID and establishing your Estonian company. And this is just the beginning—more features and services are on the way.

    Why we created My e-Residency

The My e-Residency portal was developed directly in response to customer feedback. While e-Residency has achieved a high level of customer satisfaction—our Net Promoter Score (NPS) stood at 64 in 2022, placing it close to the world’s top level—we’ve learned that there’s always room for improvement.

Through NPS surveys and user interviews, we discovered that e-residents have plenty of information available before applying. However, many e-residents feel uncertain about the next steps after they’ve received their e-Residency and picked up their card. They shared that they felt somewhat “on their own” during this phase.

We listened to this feedback and built the portal to provide clear, ongoing support throughout the journey. As a customer-focused team, we are committed to improving the experience of every e-resident by addressing their challenges and ensuring they have the guidance and resources they need every step of the way.

What you can expect in this first release

The current MVP (Minimum Viable Product) scope of My e-Residency is dedicated to making the onboarding process smoother and more transparent for new e-residents.

In this first stage, My e-Residency is available only to new e-residents who have received approval for their e-Residency application from 3rd October onwards. This limited roll-out allows us to focus on those in the process of setting up their businesses. At the same time, we can test and improve the portal’s features.

Here are three ways the portal is already helping new e-residents.

    1. Track your progress

Keep an eye on where you are in the onboarding process, including updates on card delivery times and estimated arrival dates.

    2. Make the most of your waiting time

While waiting for your card to arrive, read helpful tips and resources on how to prepare for starting your company. From legal considerations to setting up essential services, we want to ensure you’re ready to hit the ground running as soon as you receive your card.

    3. Get step-by-step guidance

Once you’ve picked up your e-Residency card, the portal will guide you through the process of installing the required software and testing your ID card. A comprehensive checklist will help ensure that you don’t miss any important steps.

    Positive feedback and continuous improvement

We’ve already received positive feedback from users. The vast majority have told us that the content and features are helpful. In fact, 63 out of 65 users who left feedback have praised the portal for its usefulness. We’ve also been listening to suggestions for improvement and have already implemented changes based on this valuable feedback. Your input is crucial in shaping My e-Residency, and we’re committed to continuously improving the platform to better meet your needs.

    Our vision for the future

The launch of My e-Residency is just the beginning. Our long-term vision is to build a user-friendly portal for all e-residents. It should be a place to access personalised e-services crafted specifically for each e-resident. Plus, a way to stay connected with other e-residents and the Estonian ecosystem. In the future, we’ll be adding features that are designed to help existing e-residents run and grow their businesses, as well as build a strong community of entrepreneurs.

The portal won’t compete with the existing Estonian e-services that e-resident company owners are using, such as the e-Business registry, EMTA, or eesti.ee. Instead, it will focus on services unique to e-residents, like onboarding into the Estonian ecosystem and connecting with other e-residents.

We’re already laying the foundation for these future features. Right now, you can visit our community page to explore the various ways you can connect with fellow e-residents. And don't forget to explore the e-Residency company list to discover businesses founded by e-residents. We’re actively exploring ways to enhance these community opportunities, streamline the experience, and integrate them into your journey as an e-resident. Our goal is to help you network more effectively, find potential partners, and grow your business within the e-Residency ecosystem.

Share Your Feedback and Help Shape the Future of My e-Residency

We want the new portal to serve the needs of all e-residents. This is why we’d love to hear from you.

If you have ideas for features or services you’d like to see added to the portal, please let us know! Share your thoughts on how we can improve the platform, and help shape the future of e-Residency services.

    Stay Tuned for More Features!

As we continue to develop the portal, we’ll be adding new features for both new and existing e-residents. We plan to eventually roll out the portal to all e-residents. Our aim is to make My e-Residency the go-to place online for e-residents. It will support starting, running, and growing your company in Estonia. And also also help you build strong connections with the e-Residency community.

Stay tuned for more updates—and welcome to the future of e-Residency!
